i've now read infinite articles about plastic: there were 100 million tons of it found in the ocean, most bottles are recycled into non-recyclable products which ultimately join the landfills, plastic bags take tons of energy to make/ recycle/ and break down, etc.

Luckily, I found this really cool campaign on Facebook that was publicizing naked juice's new 100% recycled and recyclable plastic bottle, called reNEWabottle. naked juice is the first nationally distributed brand to transition to this incredible plastic so the bottles get recycled into new bottles and can continue to get recycled into new bottles, so they don't see the landfills unless some schmuck puts them there.

anyway, i was uber excited when my sister passed me a reNEWabottle on facebook and told me about the campaign. basically, every time a bottle is passed to a friend (it's kinda like those gift icons, but it's free), naked juice donates $1 to Keep America Beautiful, a non-profit that saves natural resources by promoting recycling systems across the country.

i highly recommend that all of you check out the campaign on facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/messageinabottle/), and I would love you forever and ever (as long as the lifespan of a reNEWabottle) if you started passing a bottles to your friends and spreading the word.
